Abstract

This is an exploratory-descriptive study with a qualitative approach and the purpose of learning the concepts of reception of the health professionals of the Psychosocial Care Center for Alcohol and Other Drugs (CAPS AD) of the city of Sobral, in the State of Ceará. The study was conducted with four health professionals in charge of conducting the activities of reception. For the collection of information, a script of semi-structured interview was used. The findings suggested the categories trial and port of entry; the reception as a device providing a restart, of resumption of treatment and maintenance of the connection of the user to the health device. In relation to the factors which need to be developed for the qualification of the practice of reception, the need to improve the communication arose, as well as a reduced time for the reception and the development of the ambulatory reception.
