Abstract

This article presents a synopsis prepared after a bibliographical research of 31 publications produced between 2004 and 2010 in the research named Music and its identity articulations in the musical corporations of São João del-Rei and surroundings: tradition and transformation in the historical and socio-cultural context. The theory and methodology of the matrix work are described in general terms, and the results of the bibliographical research are presented, showing the emergence and transformation of ten different thematic categories studied, the reconceptualization developed throughout the study and the conclusions which have been reached by now.
