Lies are not without truth

Abstract

In this article, psychoanalytic reflections on truth and lies are articulated with the place of lies in discourse, linked to the question of the subject’s half-truth in relation to their desire. The tricks of language that place lies and truth as modes of functioning of the unconscious are highlighted. It is important to consider how understanding truth as a hole in what is said makes it possible to read and listen to the mechanisms of lies taken as truth in a non-alienating way. The theoretical discussion is based on Freud and Lacan, as well as authors who have approached the subject from these original references. Reference will be made to cultural objects that address the problem of truth and lies in their realizations.
