Hélio Pellegrino: história de um inconformista radical
Abstract
This work intended to build a chronology that articulates milestones in the life history of Hélio Pellegrino – related to his insertion in psychoanalysis – with a panoramic contextualization of the set of his psychoanalytic writings. This was done based on historical landmarks mentioned in documents from Fundação Casa de Rui Barbosa (FCRB), dates mentioned in his published texts, biography Hélio Pellegrino: a paixão indignada – written by the journalist Paulo Roberto Pires (Pires, 1998) – which was the basis for another succinct biography written later by the same
author, in 2004, for the ludic collection Arquivinho de Hélio Pellegrino, which rescues forgotten authors who are part of the Brazilian cultural memory. In the same way, we counted on the important chronology – elaborated by Antônia Pellegrino (2004), his granddaughter –, which also appears in this collection, among other sources. The limits of this task are limited to the present work, which has no pretension to write a biography of the author, even because it would be necessary to dedicate researches exclusively to this study object, as it was well described by Pires (1998, p. 11), before a psychoanalyst “[...] that, like few others, would deserve the adjective larger than life”. In the same way, certainly, building memories that seek to reflect on the articulation between chronological milestones of the author’s life with a periodization of his production is the subject of different works to come. This is only one of them and it is limited to
the purpose of situating the reader as to the relation between the author’s psychoanalytic training and a panoramic contextualization of his psychoanalytic production.
