Situational diagnosis of the nurses’ performance in primary health care

Objective: to carry out a situational diagnosis about the role of Nurses in Primary Health Care in municipalities with less than 10 thousand inhabitants. Method: a cross-sectional
study with 22 nurses working in the Family Health Strategy in 15 municipalities in the Grande Oeste/Santa Catarina Health Macro-region. For data collection, a survey-type
questionnaire was used, tabulated in the Microsoft Excel® program, and the descriptive analysis organized in the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences version 21.0 software. Results: predominantly female profile. Carrying out the Nursing/Consultation Process is present in the nurses’ practice. As for carrying out the steps, 4.5% of the participants do not carry out the Nursing Process, 40.9% carry out all the steps and 54.6% carry out some steps. The e-SUS electronic medical record is used to record care by 77.3% of nurses. Conclusion: the Nursing/Consultation Process takes place in an incipient or fragmented way by the Nurses as a methodological instrument to systematize care.
